These are the types of membership:-
Associate Membership – Free of charge
You have access to a small part of the website and, more importantly, get to know about Alchemy, OU and other chemistry-related events that you might be interested in: careers advice sessions, revision weekends, important news regarding OU modules, etc. Basically, it means you’re on our mailing list so you get to hear about things early.
Full membership – £5.00 per year
You get four newsletters a year, featuring chemical news, articles, book reviews, study support, interesting applications, interviews, puzzles…. You also have full access to the Members Only area, which includes our past paper solutions for chemistry modules and S104, as well as study resources and course reviews.
Full membership – Contributor – Free of charge
All the benefits of full membership free for a year! To get it, you need to have written for us, or organised something for us. We like to reward our contributors! Get in touch if you’d like to be involved via the Contact Form.
Full membership – OU Staff – Free of charge
If you want to be a member, Create an Account with us! If you were a member on our old website, I’m afraid you have to re-register!

How to join
Register on this website. You will receive an email asking you to validate your email address.
Make a payment of £5.00 to Alchemy via Paypal. On the left hand side menu, under “Subscription”, enter the email address used for registering with Alchemy and click on “Pay now”. This will take you to the Paypal website, where your payment is sent through to Alchemy.
Unfortunately, the system is NOT AUTOMATED – the people activating your account, checking payments etc are also students with work, study, lives etc – so please allow TWO OR THREE DAYS for processing your application. You’ll get an email from our oualchemy at gmail.com account once you’re activated.
